My journey to diagnosis was long and frustrating. I
began experiencing symptoms in my late 20’s, but
my symptoms were vague and dismissed. 39

years later I finally got answers and a diagnosis-
Myasthenia Gravis. I have found that being

believed about my symptoms has been the
greatest struggle followed closely by getting
appropriate medical treatment. Despite my long
journey with MG I have sung at competition level
in the US twice and raised my four children. I
would like the world to know that MG is not
arthritis, I still bend, I'm not made of glass, but I do
need to rest a lot.
