Donna Formosa - Sunshine Coast QLD

by Chloe Wigg 2025, acrylic, resin, acetate and ink on wood 30.5cm x 30.5cm x 5cm

I was 11 years old when I was diagnosed, and I
recall it took about 3 or 4 months to diagnose.
I had Ocular Myasthenia Gravis (OMG) which
meant I struggled with double vision terribly.
When I was first diagnosed my biggest
challenge was at school where I felt isolated,
alone and different from my peers.
My biggest triumph was felt when my
neurologist told me that I was most likely in
remission when I was 18-20 yrs old. What’s my
greatest triumph? Getting married and having
five beautiful children.

I have also loved joining the MGAQ committee
and having the opportunity to connect with so
many other people who have MG. I am inspired
everyday by their stories. I want people to know
that the MG journey is different for each person.
Myasthenia Gravis should not define the person.
Joining the State association is the best way to
keep informed of latest treatments and
happenings.
