Glass Sky is my interpretation of Van Gogh's stary night. What better backdrop than the Glass House Mountains as they represent such a physical challenge for hikers and climbers. At the time I was fast losing my ability to walk and every day life was like an extreme sport. I got so focused on "getting better" that I didn't appreciate what I could do. The next day i would wake up and be able to do even less and I would kick myself for not appreciating what i had before it was gone. I wanted an artwork to represent appreciating the scenery. Taking the time to bask in what you can see and feel right this moment, looking past the every day to see the complexity underneath. Sometimes we can get so focused on goals, on the destinations in life that we don't appreciate the journey.
